You Never Let Go

After I went swimming yesterday, I heard this song on the radio. It reminded me of God’s presence and faithfulness in my life. I LOVE this song!!!

You Never Let Go
by Matt Redman

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
Your perfect love is casting out fear
And even when I’m caught in the middle of the storms of this life
I won’t turn back
I know you are near

And I will fear no evil
For my God is with me
And if my God is with me
Whom then shall I fear?
Whom then shall I fear?

(Chorus:)
Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me

And I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
A glorious light beyond all compare
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
We’ll live to know You here on the earth

(Chorus)

Yes, I can see a light that is coming for the heart that holds on
And there will be an end to these troubles
But until that day comes
Still I will praise You, still I will praise You

Oh no, You never let go
Through the calm and through the storm
Oh no, You never let go
In every high and every low
Oh no, You never let go
Lord, You never let go of me

How can I keep from singing

How Can I Keep From Singing
-  Chris Tomlin

There is an endless song
Echoes in my soul

I hear the music ring

And though the storms may come
I am holding on
To the rock I cling

Chorus
How can I keep from singing Your praise
How can I ever say enough
How amazing is Your love
How can I keep from shouting Your name
I know I am loved by the King
And it makes my heart want to sing

I will lift my eyes
In the darkest night
For I know my Savior lives

And I will walk with You
Knowing You’ll see me through
And sing the songs You give

Chorus

Bridge
I can sing in the troubled times
Sing when I win

I can sing when I lose my step
And fall down again

I can sing ’cause You pick me up
Sing ’cause You’re there

I can sing ’cause You hear me, Lord
When I call to You in prayer

I can sing with my last breath
Sing for I know

That I’ll sing with the angels
And the saints around the throne

O Holy Night

This is my fav Christmas hymn!

O HOLY NIGHT

O holy night, the stars are brightly shining;
It is the night of the dear Savior’s birth!
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope, the weary soul rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.

Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night, O holy night, O night divine!

Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here came the wise men from Orient land.
The King of kings lay thus in lowly manger,
In all our trials born to be our friend!

Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night, O holy night, O night divine!

Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His Gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother
And in His Name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy Name!

Fall on your knees, O hear the angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born!
O night, O holy night, O night divine!

Random Thoughts

Hi.

I just returned from a very fun trip to Maryland and Washington D.C. This trip was especially meaningful because it showed me how real is God’s goodness and blessing in my life. I spent the weekend with Emmy, a friend I met more than 5 years ago. Though we’ve only lived in the same city for short amounts of time, our friendship has grown over the years. It’s so fun having a long-distance friend who is sweet and encouraging.

On another note, I’m currently writing a paper for Developmental Psyc. It’s a pretty interesting class. I just skimmed over the chapter entitled “Social and Personality Development in Early Adulthood,” which describes the period of life my friends and I currently share. It’s interesting because it talks about singleness, marriage, choosing a career (and how personality affects these) – all very big things when you’re in you’re 20-30s.

The paper topics I am considering:

– Raising kids in a bilingual home – some people are for it and some are against it

– Development of emotions during development

– Friendship – how it forms and changes over development

– Choosing a career

I will think about this and work on it more tomorrow.

Goodnight!

He Leadeth Me

what a great song =)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cf8n4ODkY7w

He Leadeth Me

Words by Joseph H. Gilmore, 1862
Music: William B. Bradbury, 1864

He leadeth me, O bless’d thought!
O words with heavenly comfort fraught!
Whate’er I do, where’er I be
Still ’tis God’s hand that leadeth me.

He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

Sometimes mid scenes of deepest gloom,
Sometimes where Eden’s bowers bloom,
By waters still, over troubled sea,
Still ’tis His hand that leadeth me.

He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

Lord, I would place my hand in Thine,
Nor ever murmur nor repine;
Content, whatever lot I see,
Since ’tis my God that leadeth me.

He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

And when my task on earth is done,
When by Thy grace the victory’s won,
E’en death’s cold wave I will not flee,
Since God through Jordan leadeth me.

He leadeth me, He leadeth me,
By His own hand He leadeth me;
His faithful follower I would be,
For by His hand He leadeth me.

Life’s a dance you learn as you go

for some reason, i thought of this song on the way home tonight. i found this all the way back from an entry in March 2005. kind of a cute song…. hence the name of my blog. :)

Life’s a Dance
- John Michael Montgomery

When I was fourteen I was falling fast
For a blue eyed girl in my homeroom class
Trying to find the courage to ask her out
Was like trying to get oil from a waterspout
What she would have said I can’t say
I never did ask and she moved away
But I learned something from my blue eyed girl
Sink or swim you gotta give it a whirl

Life’s a dance you learn as you go
Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow
Don’t worry about what you don’t know
Life’s a dance you learn as you go

The longer I live the more I believe
You do have to give if you wanna recieve
There’s a time to listen, a time to talk
And you might have to crawl even after you walk
Had sure things blow up in my face
Seen the longshot, win the race
Been knocked down by the slamming door
Picked myself up and came back for more

Life’s a dance you learn as you go
Sometimes you lead, sometimes you follow
Don’t worry about what you don’t know
Life’s a dance you learn as you go

Life’s a dance
Life’s a dance
Life’s a dance
Take a chance on love
Life’s a dance
You learn as you go

From a Friend

Trust – in His timing

Rely – on His promises

Wait – for His answers

Believe – in His miracles

Rejoice – in His goodness

Relax – in His presence

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. – James 4:8

Hope for Every Man

i love this song :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clBsFiFWgFk

Every Man
By Casting Crowns

I’m the man with all I’ve wanted
All the toys and playing games
I am the one who pours your coffee
Corner booth each Saturday

I am your daughter’s favorite teacher
I’m the leader of the band
I sit behind you in the bleachers
I am every man

I’m the coach of every winning team
And still a loser in my mind
I am the soldier in the airport
Facing giants one more time

I am the woman shamed and haunted
By the cry of unborn life
I am every broken man
Nervous child, lonely wife

Chorus

Is there hope for every man?
A solid place where we can stand
In this dry and weary land
Is there hope for every man?

Is there love that never dies
Is there peace in troubled times
Someone help me understand
Is there hope for every man?

It seems there’s just so many roads to travel
It’s hard to tell where they will lead
My life is scarred, my dreams unraveled
Now I am scared to take the lead

If I could find someone to follow
Who knows my pain and feels the way
The uncertainty of my tomorrow
The guilt and pain of yesterday

Chorus

There is hope for every man
A solid place where we can stand
In this dry and weary land
There is hope for every man

There is love that never dies
There is peace in troubled times
Will we help them understand
Jesus is hope for every man

This is My Father’s World

this is my Father’s World!

This is my Father’s world,
and to my listening ears
all nature sings, and round me rings
the music of the spheres.
This is my Father’s world:
I rest me in the thought
of rocks and trees, of skies and seas;
his hand the wonders wrought.

This is my Father’s world,
the birds their carols raise,
the morning light, the lily white,
declare their maker’s praise.
This is my Father’s world:
he shines in all that’s fair;
in the rustling grass I hear him pass;

    he speaks to me everywhere.

This is my Father’s world.
O let me ne’er forget
that though the wrong seems oft so strong,
God is the ruler yet.

This is my Father’s world:
why should my heart be sad?
The Lord is King; let the heavens ring!
God reigns; let the earth be glad!

I have searched

My friend Jeremy wrote this song. He is sooo good and I always feel inspired after seeing him sing.
Not that being happy is the goal in life, but God certainly does make me happy when I really think about it. I mean…friendship with God, what could be better? :) 2 Corinthians 5:17

I have searched these city blocks
Looking for love, looking for fame
And all my longing led me back to You
You make me so happy

You stretched the limits of kindness once again
You reached through my emptiness and pulled out a new man

You make me so happy

Dreams may fall like the leaves come fall
But the love of God restores them all
Passion may fade like the end of the day
But the love of God restores them all
